Attempt 2 - Quill and Thor Drinking

"And another thing -" He continued. "Why is it always the guy's fault when you run out of toilet paper? Girls use toilet paper like, way more than guys do and yet somehow we're always to blame."

He couldn't remember what they had been talking about except they had been talking about women giving them difficult times. Quill down the rest of his drink and presented his empty glass to Thor to fill. Thor told him that he lost last time. Quill had very little memory after talking about Thanos, but he was sure that Thor was equally as drunk. This time he was determined to have the God of Thunder pass out first.

Thor gently (actually gently!) pats Quill as he lets out what appears to be the entire contents of his stomach into his toilet bowl.

"There, there," he says. "Let it out."

Quill doesn't have time to think about whether this is annoying or helpful.

When he was done, Quill groaned.

"Throw up tastes bad," He mumbled.

[st_ormbreaker]

"I'm sure it does," Thor says with one final pat; he's just relieved that Quill managed to find the bowl. "Do you think you're good to stand?"

"As long as I still have legs," he groaned.

He put his hands on the sides of the toilet bowl and tried to stand up.

[st_ormbreaker]

Thor doesn't seem entirely convinced.

"You think you're steady enough on your feet to brush your teeth?"

Thor looks down at the sink. He can't tell if Quill's cleaned his bathroom even once since his arrival.

He reached over laborously and grabbed the mouthwash. He swigged some of it around and spit it out with a little less accuracy than he had with his vomit.

"Just as good," He declared.

[st_ormbreaker]

"Let's get you to bed then," he says. And without waiting for Peter to give his assent, he pulls Quill's arm around his neck and over his shoulder, then folds his arm around Quill's side and starts to make his way toward the bed.

He sits Quill down. "What do you normally wear to bed?" he asks, looking over at Quill's dresser. This was considerably easier to handle when he was helping someone considerably smaller who wasn't resistant to the help, like Jane or Darcy.

Somehow Quill discovered he was sitting on his bed. When did that happen?

"uhhhh...." He said slowly. "Boxers? usually. Yeah........why?"

"I was going to get you into them," he says, easily. "At the least, we should probably get your shoes off."

And without further ado, Thor kneels down and tugs off Quill's shoes and his socks afterward. Thor looks around the room.

"Where's your laundry basket?"

More importantly -- does he even have one?

Quill had a hamper, but there were clothes strewn around as if he had missed a lot of 'free throws' with various articles of clothing.

He leaned forward and narrowed his eyes.

"Why are you being so nice to me?" He asked.

[st_ormbreaker]

"You are ill," Thor says, directing a finger at him as he carries the socks over to the hamper. "You take care of ill people. I imagine feeling ill must feel horrible."

"I'm not ill," He protested.

Even in his drunken state, Quill felt the quiet urge to compete with Thor.

[st_ormbreaker]

Thor is in no mood for an argument.

"I'm taking care of you because you are my friend," he says instead. "Now lay down."

[st_arlord]

"No, you lie down," he mocked, but fell to the side until he was lying down.

Quill naturally huffed a sigh as his body hit the bed.

[st_ormbreaker]

Thor sits down on the bed beside him, with all intention of staying there until he's sufficiently confident that the other man isn't going to choke in his sleep on whatever still remains in the pit of his stomach. Thor is reasonably confident that there might not be much remaining, but it was better safe than sorry.

"Why do you always have to argue with me?"

Quill curled up in the fetal position like a child going to bed.

"I don't always argue with you," He murmured back.

A long pause passed and Quill's eyes closed.

"Why do you have to be so cool to everyone?" He murmured, half awake.

[st_ormbreaker]

"Why do you have to compare yourself to others?" Thor asks, giving Quill's side a little pat.

[st_arlord]

"Gotta be cool," he mumbled, adjusting himself.

Quill was slowly falling asleep.

"...people like me," He seemed to finished a sentence.

[st_ormbreaker]

Thor can't help but find similarities between Loki and Quill, though the two of them have different personalities entirely.

"You don't have to be cool," he says. He's not sure that Quill hears him. If he's not asleep, he will be soon enough.

He could hear someone talking, but his muddled brain couldn't decipher who it was. His thoughts drifted to where they always did when he fell asleep. His fingers clenched at the fabric of the bed.

"Gonna find you Gamora...." He mumbled. "....gonna save you.... love you..."

Thor takes a breath at that. Some small part of him wish he hadn't heard it, but he knows that there's no running from it. The truth of the matter is that Gamora might well still live, but it was equally (or more) likely she was dead. The only thing that perhaps saved her from death was that she was Thanos' daughter, but if Thanos' snap had eliminated without discrimination, she could just as well be dead.

"Good night," Thor tells him as he stands, though he's sure that Quill doesn't hear him. Thor lets himself out, shutting the door behind him.
